A Good Night, Tilling for Domats, Baby Tortoise & Blurb!

Had a great evening last night, the chilli went down really well with them all, especially Yovo & Anton who think "I am Chef" lol. It needed more chilli to really be called a chilli but they would not have coped! It was very tasty though with lots of red wine. Pavlinka made her usual banitsa which I served up with the cakes, this seems to be when they eat it. Last night they all ate loads but as I had made the biggest chilli in the world we still have lots left so guess what’s for dinner tonight :) Another two jars of my pickles made their disappearance too, I am well impressed with them, Nige likes the gherkins & I like the peppers :D
I have IBS which means beans & Onion are like poison to me & make me very ill ,so stupid to make a chilli then, ahh but I have some magic pills for special occasions & I was fine, thank God!!!! Although I do admit it was very foolish as having two things that make me very poorly in one dish could have been catastrophic. I did use spring onions though, thinking these wouldn’t be as strong, maybe, but they made me cry when I chopped them up!!!!!!!! Much Rakia & Red Wine, all from our own grape's, was consumed to the detriment of Nigel :)

Nigel is tilling today so we can plant our tomatoes but we are not allowed to do this till after the 6th, I don't know is the answer to your question, it's how they do it here!!! I shall also plant my pumpkins & Cucumbers. I am hoping for some beans to plant too. I'm not sure when the garlic will be ready but think its about June then I can use that area for something else. I have space for Peppers & we are digging over an extra area for the cauliflower & Broccoli. I need to thin out my seedlings now then I will need to have more space for them, ooh err could be a problem if Nige goes to UK on a run! There is so much to do in the garden & fences need to be built to stop dogs destroying all vegetation!

Managed to get two of our babies home today as we put the dogs in the paddock for the afternoon out of the sun. Custard (ginger girl) & Belle (grey girl) go all unnecessary when they come home with lots of noise & cuddles

Day off for me today as my hands are rebelling from painting & are quite painful so I will get on with the seedlings then at least I haven’t wasted a day! Its over 30c in the garden at 3pm so the dogs are not doing anything except sleeping along with most of the village! Tempting I must say :D

I found one of our baby tortoise this morning, his shell was very soft & he felt quite cold but was moving & alert. Hope this is a different one to the one Nigel found as then at least two survived the hibernation! We think they are not warmed up enough yet as we have not seen any of the bigger ones around. Although I did hear some major rustling the other day when I was gardening but could see nothing as it was in all the undergrowth of their garden. We keep an area of the garden just for them with lots of food (weed) although I may have to nick some for veggies!!!

Well Karen & Peter made it here across Europe ok, got to their house at 2am to find they had been robbed!  I am very sorry for them, what a bloody welcome. I hope they get their belongings back but they must be very disappointed, this is not what you expect when starting a new venture. I hope they are ok!

Here are a couple of the flowers I bought in the market... What are they????

Have also managed to pot up or thin out some seedlings, Sunflowers, Pumpkins, Marigolds & Lettuce.
Time for dinner

Polski Trambesh, Plants & Metal Garden Plant Holder!

Views from our village...  As You can see not a cloud in the sky.....

The Rape is every where, I'm now getting worried that we won't have any Sunflowers here this year. I have managed to grow a few seedlings so will have to make do with about 4 lol. The smell permiates the air & mixes with the lovely smell of the Lilac tree's & bushes that line the roads too. Lilac is prolific at the moment in a soft Pink & deep Purple colours. Our garden Lilac is the Pink variety & I have a bunch in the living room which is surrounding me with a beautiful scent as I write this Blog.
Went to Polski Trambesh market yesterday to buy some bedding plants, which I actually managed to do. I lost all my geraniums in the snow this year so I have replaced them & got some other plants, no idea what they are! I will take some photo's when they have taken well & see if anyone can inform me. It's been a long time since I was there last, I think September. I really like this market, you can buy everything here from fruit & veg to live fish & Rabbits (both as food products) as well as clothing & Shoes to Guns & fishing paraphenalia!! I bought bags of miss shape biscuits, plants, kiwi's & Banana's. I forgot we have people to dinner tonight so had to buy the veg in a shop later very anoying, as I have said before dementia is settling in!
So a coffee then the local hardware store to buy a door bell, I'm sure we will live to regret that decision, & a pump sprayer thingy which will hold 8 ltrs of weed killer. Needless to say Nigel had great fun killing everything that dared to grow in the pool area lol. I found a great painting for the guest room. I had been looking for a painting of Sunflowers with a touch of red & this was a fifth of the price. I wanted something that would depict Bulgaria in some way but nothing too European, this is perfect as its set in a wooden frame & looks as it should.

The fayre's in town, well a blow up slide,
a swing ride & a carousell both of which are about 100 yrs old & a punch ball & candyfloss, woo!!!!
Sitting under the trees at our coffee shop.

While I was planting the flowers we were called out by our neighbours who speak more Turkish than Bulgarian & no English but we always get there in the end, lots of hand gestures & laughter!
They had a metal spiral plant stand which holds 8 pots for the garden asking us to buy it as they need money. Now this was the last thing we needed & being on a very tight budget can't really afford. It has certainly seen better days, I tried to pretend I didnt know what they were saying :) But I like our neighbours & the fact they did'nt just ask for money I folded & gave them 6 leva (although they tried for 10!!!).  I think it will look good with a bit of hammerite & trailing geraniums on, very shaby chic!

It's been beautiful weather this week with lots more to come so I am eager to get the hall finished & get out in the garden to soak up some sun while reading a good book & getting more of the garden sorted!!!

Right well a very busy day today I have the hall to finish painting & tonight Pavlinka, Yovo, Anton & Mary are all coming to dinner. So housework to do & a chilli to cook, I bought cakes so no dessert to make :D

Owe, Oohh, Painting the Ceiling!

Then.......
This is after Nigel has sealed the gaps. The wood has expanded over the years & the insulation falls through the gaps & we get lots of webs! the insulation is mud & hay & works well but is messy

Ugh, the hall is very small, so why does it take so much blooming energy? Gonna be at least two coats & it has taken 2 hours, minus a bit of chatting to hubby on the phone, to do the first! the roller is not making a good job so I have had to paint the first coat by brush.  I hate ceilings, I am so short I have to perch precariously on ladders & crick my neck, get paint in my eyes & on my face & with Trigger Thumb using my right hand is difficult & hurts & using my left is difficult! Now both my hands hurt my neck hurts & both arms ache!!! Well I think that was a rant! :D
It's already looking better though so at least I can see a difference. I think its going to take an extra day though more with the doors but I don't count them lol, I will paint them when I have finished walls hopefully tomorrow will see an end to that then I can do doors Wednesday or Thursday, whatever, by the end of the week I will have at least a respectable hallway :D
I think I'm going to look for the step stool & see if I can do the ceiling standing on them, they may be better, or not but I will try.
I hope the blooming water comes on tonight as I am splattered with paint!
Right Rant over will finish coffee break & go do 2nd coat.

And Now.......

Finished!!!!  A good job jobbed I think!

I am cream krackered now.
It's times like this I wish I was taller but its finished & I am pleased with the result. So tomorrow I am doing the walls, I can't do them today as I can't wash the brushes etc :D

No Water, Paint Day, Blah Blah Blah, Pretty Yellow Blogg!

Rape seed field, the smell is strangely sweet & sour both not unpleasant & horrid! looks beautiful though.

The rape seed fields are everywhere this year, I don't remember it being so prolific last year. The scenery is lovely now & soon we will be graced with the Sunflowers, cant wait.
Karen & Peter a couple who have had a house in Sushitsa for 4 yrs are moving here permanently, I think they are on their way across Europe now. I wish them good luck on their journey & really hope they enjoy the drive over. i remember how excited we were but it was mixed with sadness, leaving children, mum & grandchildren is soooo flipping hard! It was a real experience for us, in the midst of winter with Edo our cat who till then hated travelling. he had more room in the van than I did lol, he's a big boy so we had to buy him a big cage. He was great though & only created while driving through Hungary, he really freaked out till we were over the border, very very strange!!!!!

Soon we will see these Sunflowers everywhere!

Yesterday was a drizzly overcast day & I was cold so we had to light the fire! The day for me was spent just uploading photo's & slobbing out indoors. I phoned my Mum & spoke to her for over an hour, I love my Mum, she is 86 this year & has had a hard life. She is an amazing woman & has travelled all over the world mostly on her own! The last 4 yrs have been difficult for her as she is very poorly but up till then she was still travelling. The last six months of travelling she had been to Thailand, Bali, Andalusia & here in Bulgaria
Well we have no bloody water again today aaarrrrggghhh......... Its not like in England you don't get a nice letter a week before informing you politely that between such & such the water/electric will be suspended blah blah blah. You get up in the morning & badam no water or electric, it is very annoying. I need to ask around & see if anyone knows how many days as this happened on Friday too its on again in the evening so hope for the same today! Thank goodness we have a huge container full of spring water as Nigel is out working so coffee is still a go!
Right today is painting day. Nigel has plastered, filled & sealed the hall all ready for my decorating skills :D
I have the paints all ready so it will be a quick coffee & on to the business of the day, another yellow room :D

Popovo, New Scenery, Huge House, Curtains & Meeting new People

Yesterday was a good day! I love experiencing new things, meeting new people, visiting new places, especially after being cooped up for months on end in dreary light, thick snow & freezing temps! Sad I know that little things lift my mood so much but maybe that's it S.A.D who knows, but when that sun starts to shine be it hot in spring/summer or in the midst of winter in minus temps with snow drifts all around, I feel happy. So with all those things in place I had a good day :D
We popped to Popovo to have a look around, not having been there but being impressed with the scenery in that area I was keen to have a butchers!
I liked popovo, it was half closed, lol, but had a good feel to it, very colourful houses amidst the tall communist blocks some of which had very colourful balcony's, lots of greenery & colourful flowers in the gardens of peoples homes, yes it had a good feel. The town was a lot bigger than Polski Trambesh but smaller than Gorna Oryhovitsa, with a mix of coffee shops, little Piazza's & the usual mix of clothes, super markets, hardware etc. We managed to have a nice piece of torte with a cup of Nescafe 3in1. its a chance you have to take, sort though the maze of highly coloured cakes & plump for the ones that look not too fake, IE colour & creme, as these can be truly awful!!!! There is a distinct lack of decent coffee shops here in this part of Bulgaria, its possible to find a good cup of coffee or a good tea on occasion both but finding both with a really good torte is HARD!!!! The one place we have found is a little coffee shop in the same building as CBA next door to Practika in Veliko Turnovo, not very salubrious! We need a coffee shop with all three things in a good setting with outside seating in summer selling good Torte & Banitsa!

I have been looking for the perfect Bulgarian curtains & net as people have been seen looking over wall into our house even though we have quite a long frontage they still manage to see in :( This has been unbelievably hard, its all voile & sparkly shimmery material's. now don't get me wrong I love these but I needed something to let light in but not prying eyes. Eventually I gave up & found some light cotton curtains I have not used in 10 years, they are cream calligraphy letters & writing design. My friend Patricia shortened them for me & I have secured them back with bronze coloured sun grips, I think they work well. So guess how surprised I was when checking out the window of a shop which resembles UK charity shops, having a mix of new & secondhand clothing & household items, I saw exactly what I had been looking for, yeay, bit late though :D Still I did buy the perfect curtain for my kitchen french doors (when the kitchen is built lol) & I got some for my doors so to say I am well pleased is an understatement :)
I did look at buying some towels for B&B guests, the price is worked out per kilo!!
That was too much for my befuddled brain & they are cheaper in Tesco's so I will wait.

There a tiny little houses set back by the side of the main road going into Popovo, most are one up one down really pretty with a bit of land for a market garden I suppose. At first sight they look like an allotment with shed then more & more come into view & it becomes obvious people live in them, very quaint but I would love to find out more about them!

Popped over to see kareena, to get a plan of action for her next trip, & met a couple who had been here exactly one year. Its good to hear the different lifestyles people lead here, the differing expectations that are being met or not. Happily this couple & their two young step brothers are settling in well & loving Bulgaria, just like us :D
Still cant get over the size of Kareena's house, well houses if you count the bakery which is bigger than any house, If anything I think it looks bigger on second visit!! Did eventually get around to planning etc :)

Planting seedlings, Popovo & Work!

Have started to transplant seedlings to where I want them to be. Last year we noticed some seedlings just appear where the carrots strawberries & parsnips were planted, I dug a load up & went to UK for my step sons wedding. On returning home we noticed that mary (our friend who house sits) had weeded but left these now small bushy plants in place, so we waited to see what would happen & were delighted to find we had lovely bushes of prolific flowers that only opened in the sun & had a lovely smell. This year I have planted the seeds we collected but noticed today lots of seedlings again where the Parsnip was so I am digging them up & putting them around the garden in the hope that we will eventuallt fill it with these lovely big WEEDS! I have also been given seeds for other weeds here in the UK these weeds would be feature plants & cost a fortune in garden centres. My friend Pat dug up one such plant for me last year it grows really quite tall & has long catkin type flowers on it. It's really a beautiful plant & I hope to get lots of them too!

The skimming of the wall did not go as planned the plaster must have been out of date as it went off in about 10 mins!!!! Oh dear, but we just got a phone call from kareena who has been trying to get here since last Sunday but due to volcanic ash just managed it now hooray but has only two days before she has to leave for Turkey to catch flight to UK, BOOOOOO.
So we are now off to Popovo to put a plan of action together with her!

Planting

Bulgarian Court, Sunshine , Pool, Parsnips, Dinner with the Georgiev's, Rakia & Red Wine

Ever been in a Bulgarian court house? Now court in England I find very scary, makes my tummy revolt but here it seemed very cool, relaxed & not court at all. I wondered if it was because we didn't know what was being said but it seemed very slap dash & the judge seemed very disinterested! The only person who was dressed half way decent was the judge!
Right to the point, we went to court for the burglary by Emile. He wasn't there the only person who spoke a little English was the defence councilor who filled us in. He hadn't met Emile, thought he was already in prison (he isn't as he was in local bar last night!)& we were only there to say we had all our stuff back!!!! After we have both sworn & made statements & signed numerous bit of paper to that fact!!!!! Bulgarian bureaucracy is MAD!!!! He said he was there to make a bargain as Emile had confessed (bit hard not too when he has all my jewellery) if he hadn't confessed he would get 15 years (OMG) but he was now looking at 6 years as he had previous convictions. Mary who said she hadn't been asked to go was called for & of course wasn't there, the Mayor was (Don't know why) as were two other people I think for defence. It was now decided to go back on 12Th May (again don't know why) but we don't have to go! So after all the bloody time & effort we still know nothing & will only here now through word of mouth :(

The weather has continued to be beautiful so we have got the liner for the concrete base & the pool is being filled as I type, woop woop!!! It wont be warm enough to use now (unless you don't mind freezing water) but it will warm up with the cover on it & with temperatures of 27 & 28c will be ready very soon. CANT WAIT!!!!!!
We are going to put small stones all around the pool area it will look nicer & be less work as it is all weed now. It will remind me of Bognor Regis where I lived from 1987 to 2001 in fact my son Daniel still lives there with his partner katie.
this leads me nicely into I am going to be a Nanna again, A Baba!!!!! Dan & Katie are having a baby in November!!!!! I love being a Nanna & miss my two granddaughter's soooo much. I was at both their births & cut Hope's cord. I was very close to the girls & its heartbreaking not knowing when I will see them again, I love them dearly. Gutted I won't see baby when it's born as I don't know when I will get to UK again but I am hoping that Dan & Katie will come over with baby next year :D
This is the worst thing about being in Bulgaria, our children are all grown up with lives of their own but we are missing out on the babies, we have four grandchildren between us soon to be five & we are missing out on them big time! That is peoples lifestyles now, we are all scattered if not in different countries then different counties. The world is a very small place & we are all open to new opportunities that our parents would have loved.

I have just dug up more Parsnips :D I thought we had the last in January, but no I now have a washing up bowl full of the blighters, I'm not sure if they are edible I will have a proper look at them later, suppose I could make a sou pa with them ( I spelt it soupa but the spell check wanted it changed lol).

Nigel is upstairs renovating the hall I will go in & paint it all hopefully tomorrow if the plaster has dried on the wall, if not then my project for Monday, then all we need is some carpet & a light fitting. He starts another little job on Monday only two days work for a friend but it helps them & helps us too!

last night we entertained for the first time since October!!!! Now that is a long time here as normal Bulgarian village life See's us socialising at least once or twice a month but mostly three times a week! I think this winter we all just curled up & it was a bit traumatic for us too!
We have been to Yovo & Pavlinka's twice recently so I thought it was time to break out our Rakia & Vino alone with the Peppers & Gherkins I pickled way back when :D I made a Pig Sty Pie (cottage pie but with pork mince) for after the mezze & Creme Carmelle with peaches & lady's finger biscuits, mmmm that was very nice, funny what you can make from store cupboard ingredients LOL! All went down very well with lots of Hobovo & Mnogo Dobre's being banded around but the best thing is our Red Wine is bloody gorgeous!!!!! I would pay a lot of money for a bottle of wine that good how bloody fortunate are we!!!!! Woop, wish I knew what grapes they are though, I tried to find out from Yovo but he doesn't know, they are just Grosne (Grapes)to him. The Rakia as Rakia's go is very nice with voda (water) its very very nice so I am well pleased with our grape harvest this year!!!!!! I have had Rakia that literally tastes light paint stripper (too much meths) & I have had a Rakia (just one mind!) that was sooo smooth it was beautiful drunk neat. Now I'm not a drinker in fact I don't like alcohol but I can drink Rakia with voda I decided to do it originally to be polite as the Bulgarians will give you their last & their best food & drink, I felt I would be terribly rude to refuse it, & our red wine is luverly, I mean it, it really is a very nice wine :D

Sunday 18 April 2010

Cherry Blossom, Weeds & a new JOB!!!

Well the Cherry Blossom is starting to fall from the tree's now, they still look gorgeous but it wont be long till they are bare. We have three tree's two sweet Cherry as you come through the main gate & one morrello Cherry at the end of the driveway, just past the outhouse lol. The Morrello cherries get compoted in jars & we are still enjoying the ones from last years crop! can't wait for the sweet Cherries Mmmmmm!
Soon the Lilac tree will be out in bloom, it's all in bud now, so we will still have lovely colour as you come in the gate as it's next to the Cherry. It's lovely to see all the leaves coming out on the trees now, most of the blossoming is over. Spring is a lovely time here as anywhere but as we are surrounded by countryside to see it all coming back to life is amazing. The downside is alot of the view disappear as the leaves fill the tree's :( but other views (of which there are plenty) are even more beautiful.
We had a very productive day yesterday. I have now filled 4 wheelbarrows full with weeds & yesterday decided it was time to clear round the water feature, as we couldn't see it! It took hours but I cleared a large area all round the feature which is where we sit in the mornings for breakfast & breaks, so I feel really virtuous now :D
Nigel finished the drive & dumped the camocks then secured the big garage gates, as he dug the ground out the security bar was in!!
So after I cooked a chilli (I had a craving!) we both collapsed knackered & aching in the evening LOL

The best though is we heard he has the driving job Woop Wooop, Wey Hey, soooo happy! Now we can live here & do odd jobs between which will pay for our own renovation!
So grateful now we can get on with living our dream!!!! :D

"Oh happy day, oh happy dayayay, oh happy day"

Beautiful Day, Posh Rooms & Injured Legs!

Well what a start to the day! No time to get head together before Anton was round for a days work & as part of that entailed helping Nigel to move furniture from one bedroom to another I had to get up make bed, clear surfaces & get self ready all before I had time to drink my regular morning coffee brought to me in bed by my lovely husband every day!
So with coffee still in hand I went down to feed dogs to find Sophie had miss judjed the fence & ripped her two legs the front one being particulaly nasty looking, so it was off to the kitchen to get the green spray & make her hate Nigel lol. That done I got to preparing the dogs their breakfast (they get their daily allowance split in two a third for brekkie & the rest for dinner)& Saskia (Cat) otherwise known as BOSS plonked herself under coffee table & set about growling at the dogs from afar. Reggie unfortunately took umbridge & set to followed behind by Sophie all hell broke loose in my tiny space otherwise known as the living room. Well have you ever tried removing a Karakachan who definately doesnt want to give up on his outburst, not an easy task! All I wanted was MY COFFEE!!!!!
So with dogs suitably chastised, cats retreated to cellar sulking I sat under my dripping grape vine to enjoy my now replenished coffee in the now blooming hot sun, aaahh bliss!!!

Off to do some emails for jobs etc & hubby calls me to help with organising the moves.

So the Sofa has now been moved from my bedroom to the guest bedroom & the toning table is now in my room. The dressing table from the guest bedroom is now in the bathroom. The tall boy from my room is in the guest room, the bedside table from the guest room is back where it should be next to me in my room & we now have 2 bedside tables to put in the store room! The Indian coffee table huge solid piece of furniture which I love is now in guest room too, PHEW! Right so now we have a really posh guest B&B room. I think the bathroom will look even better with the draws in there too for towels etc, at least I hope so!!! All completed this before 11am.

Have checked my seeds today & lots of lings are coming through, hurah, loads of marrigolds so I would guess they are easy to grow :) one pumpkin lol, coliflowers are just starting to poke their heads through & lettuce seem quite keen too! So off to continue the weeding now......

Saturday 17 April 2010

Today has been drizzly again, very dull & overcast but this afternoon the sun is trying to come out. It succeeded yesterday afternoon & was quite warm but today I am chilly!!!
Spent most of the day sending emails & being cuddled by Boris, bless him. Sophie & Reggie have been sulking in their beds as they dont like the weather lol & Nigel has been digging out a drive way with Anton & shovelling stones onto the van as the merchants bucket was too big to get it in :( Too much time wasted again, but thats Bulgaria everything takes twice as long as you think it will. So once again we havent done what was planned in a day!!!! I wonder if I'm sulking too as I've done nothing? Oh well best get up & hoover the sofa so I can put the covers in the wash!

Oh I'm in such a bad mood now!!! but on a good note sofa sorted cushion covers treated & now in wash, tomorrow do the frame cover :) It's the drive that is making me aaaaaarrrrrgh!!!! I am just going to ignor it all & hope when Nigel goes to its all sorted if not well I dont bloody care! See told you I was in a bad mood!

Have been told today I am damned haha by JW's well I'm not so I wont let that worry me but after 3 emails telling me the same thing in different ways & lots of mad ramblings I have had to search out how to block this person from my email account! Phew why can't they make these things simple, or is it just me anyway found it in the end but lots of time & too much of my energy wasted on these people now, hopefully thats the end of it!!!

Now for cafine & a game of majong

Thursday 15 April 2010

Good weather, no electric naughty dogs & even naughtier Welsh!

Finally we have had some more beautiful sunshine & warm weather No electric though!
Electric went off at 8.45am till 5pm every day for four days, so it was up, on websites till the laptop battery went flat then into garden. Lots of weeding done which is a great thing as with the little bit of rain we had everyting has gone mental in the garden, still shed loads of it & it will be an ongoing battle between them & me all year!
Gardening has been a bit difficult as I have tendonitis of my right thumb & yes I'm right handed! Its been very difficult to do anything, amazing how much you use it & how important your forefinger is too as I cant use that either, I have it cellotaped to my thumb till I can get to a chemist for a splint & proper thumb bandage LOL. I use the claw tool to scrape the ground then use my left hand for the pulling & everything else, I get there in the end!

Sophie & Reggie have a new game it involves dragging my washing off the line & all around the garden & sometimes they play tug of war, another dress down :( Thats when she isnt getting Reg to scare the living daylights out of the cats, they have just chassed Belle up a cherry tree, she is perched very precariously on the very top! Or when she is not jumping the fence like a race horse at the grand national, to play with the neighbours kids or going off for a walk Naughty dogs!

Had a lovely Banitsa last night the best ever made with Doc leaves & Sirene cheese it was beautiful & as I have loads of Doc plants I'm going to find out how to make it instead of digging them all up AGAIN! Pavlinka made one last year which was blah to say the least, far too salty so it was with trepidation we took the first bite but oh it was gorgeous, washed down by Yovo's very nice rakia smooth as silk so a good evening had by all!

Well we have had some fun of late with the even naughtier Welsh, dont you just hate it when your spirit, inner self, intuition, tells you something or someone is off, you argue with yourself cause they seem really nice but still this feeling won't go away & you cant put your finger on it! Every time I dont listen I come a cropper. Well suffice to say we along with a couple of other's have fallen fowl but today the stalkers (yes they are now email stalkers) have made my day with the funniest ramblings of a mad person I have seen for a long time!!! I have spent 2 hours this morning laughing out loud & giggling every few mins in between laughing out loud, a great way to start the day, in fact I'm going to keep the emails & read them every day to put me in a good mood! This is the best quote ever....(Copy & pasted from email).... jesus said what you are doing get done quiker yer
YER!!!! LOL :D
Hear I go again, hahahahahaha, Priceless!!!!!!!!

Cherry blossom B&B

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bulgarian-Rural-Village-BB/118523831495631?v=app_2309869772#!/pages/Bulgarian-Rural-Village-BB/118523831495631

Good news & Bad news

On a lighter note Cherry blossom B&B has been launched this week, just need those ever elusive guests now, lets hope its not too long. I Called it Cherry Blossom B&B due to the cherry tree's on both sides of the gate & at the moment it's all in blossom & looks lovely. Originally it was Pile Dom which means Chicken House but it doesn't translate well :D
I am very excited about this venture & a warm welcome awaits with a comfortable room complete with sofa TV Tea & Coffee etc take a look at my FB page let me know what you think
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bulgarian-Rural-Village-BB/118523831495631?v=app_2309869772#!/pages/Bulgarian-Rural-Village-BB/118523831495631
Oh not sure this will work will try to post a link, anyway wish me luck!!!

Have finally got a full quota of cats back in house! saskia turned up today, after 3 weeks away, the kittens have been back for a week & Edo is ensconced in our bedroom all over again :D
We have worked out a system of putting the dogs down the back of the paddock, weather permitting, in the shade of the trees on their beds, but chained to a pear tree, for their afternoon siesta. The cats can come in & out & romp & play in the garden so far so good & now we have Sas back too!!!! Nikoli I think will not be back bless him we see him around but he was trapped & severely traumatised by Reggie who was barking into his face while he was up against the wall trapped in a small space
:( bless him, he's ok but I think without being fed he won't live long as he is a poorly old man!

Poor Scrap or Scrappy Doo as I call him is dead :( Nigel told me today & I am really sad for him!!! I called him Scrap because he was always here with lumps of skin missing on his back, head, neck you name it. He didn't heal either till I started to feed him then he turned into a big well covered strong boy who rarely had terrible wounds. Then with Reggie he didn't come in regularly like before & when I did feed him he was thinner & his face looked like he had been hit by a train as time went on he looked worse! I think there is some animal around here that he kept having a run in with & not being very intelligent he would not back away. Don't know if it was animal & people or a car but he is gone now & I for one miss him & wish I could have buried him in the garden but he has been taken away by the wildlife, so as Nigel so eloquently put it, at least he has been recycled :(
So now my cat population is back to 5, just waiting to see how many tortoise have survived their hibernation will we still have 7, I hope we will see some soon.

Nail bitting time!

Well after emailing many friends in UK asking for major prayer into our work & financial situation we are now in a nail biting last few days (yes nearly said last days!)days that will see change at the end!!!

We are down to our last 200 leva, thats £100, ooh err mrs. We have had days of weeping & wailing, cuddles & ignoring each other (in a bit to pretend its not happening) not in the I cant stand you way :D
Just when we are at the, sending Nigel out to sell his body as mine is wayyyyy past it, stage he received a phone call from UK, lucky for him!
It is a very definate sniff at an engineering job of which he is the most qualified, interviews in 12 days :( Its local to where he will be staying but means we will be seperated for about a year, very bad!!!!!! That was in the morning that night he had a response from an advert & has work with a lasdy who is moving out soon, we will find out on Monday how much work she says lots but we dont know how big & a company in Varna is asking about him driving for them to & from UK once or twice a month!!!!
Well pleeeeeeease as this will mean he can stay with me & we can have the life we came here for! We dont want lots of money just enough to pay bills eat have the occasional al fresco party & gradually renovate house, that can wait though!
So Biteing nails now to see if driving job happens if not then bye bye my love I will miss you terribly & my life will be on hold for the next year :( :( :( xxxx
